Being named Cheraw Primary's 2013 - 2014 Teacher of the Year is one of the most humbling moments I've ever experienced.  My short time as an educator has been molded by the children I've encountered along the way and the community of professionals that partner along side of me.

My thoughts about teaching start with the belief that all students are learners bringing golden nuggets to the educational table.  As teachers, we must find that nugget, refine it, and make it shine. 
The rewards in this practice are inevitable.  Teaching children to be life-long learners, guiding them into becoming information seekers, sharing an enthusiasm for literature and learning right beside them are absolutly priceless."
