Edwards Elementary is proud to welcome Mrs. Kim Gaskins as our new principal. Mrs. Angela Demby has changed positions this school year, and is now our Curriculum Coordinator. We also welcome Mrs. Carolyn Addison as our new guidance counselor.

Purpose of Report
This report is to provide highlights, facts, and School Renewal Goals to our parents, guardians, and community.
School Mission
The mission of Edwards Elementary School is to prepare students to become responsible individuals by creating a positive school environment where dedicated staff, parents, and community members work together to provide opportunities for success and creativity through academics and the arts.
We Believe
that all children are capable of learning in a variety of instructional approaches that are used to support their learning.
parents should take an active and supportive role in their child's education.
children are unique and have special talents.

all faculty and staff have high expectations for all children.

School Renewal Goals
Student Achievement
Goal: The percentage of students scoring met and above in mathematics and ELA on PASS will increase at a rate to meet AYP requirements.
Strategies:
Integrate technology into classroom instruction to support the core curriculum
Use resources and instructional materials to incorporate differentiated learning
Improve student and teacher attendance
Continue MAP testing to analyze data in ELA and math
Teacher/Administrator Quality
Goal: The Percentage of teachers receiving high quality, professional development will remain at 100% .
Strategies:
Use afterschool planning time to promote curriculum development and evaluate assessments
Provide on-going research based professional development for teachers
Promote technology integration in the regular classroom
Maintain highly qualified teachers in all areas
School Climate
Goal: The percentage of parents participating in parent/teacher activities that support home/school relations as measured by participation data will increase.
Strategies:
Provide information to parents and community through effective use of the school marquee website, and local media.
Continue to hold an Open House at the beginning of school year
Continue to use school surveys to gather information from parents, students, and teachers
Continue to increase parent/teacher conference attendance
